We offer treatment options for bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, and more.

Healing should feel good

Traditional surgery for bunions, hammertoes and heel spurs is often worse and more painful than the foot ailments themselves, but The Bunion Cure offers a minimally invasive foot surgery alternative that gets you back on your feet faster and safer than traditional options.
A bunion is a painful condition that causes a bony bump to form on the joint at the base of your big toe. Bunions occur when the alignment of one’s foot changes, causing the big toe to curve inward due to pressure. While bunions are an extremely common occurrence, they are often quite painful and when left untreated can be a hindrance to everyday life. Pain most commonly occurs when the bunion rubs against a shoe or against other toes, as well as in the ball of the foot due to misalignment.

Bunions can cause pain and swelling around the big toe and when left untreated, may affect the alignment of other toes. Toenails may begin to grow into the sides of the nail bed. Toes may develop corns or become bent (hammertoes). Leaving a bunion untreated prolongs pain and can lead to other painful conditions and complications, so it is important to see a doctor right away if you are experiencing foot pain or believe you might have a bunion.
Bunions are extremely common – it is estimated that 1 in 3 adults will experience bunion pain at some point in their lives. Bunions are most commonly caused by improper or ill-fitting footwear, genetics, and joint conditions.

The longer you wait to correct a bunion, the more problems will likely arise. It is best to correct a bunion as soon as it becomes an issue, to prevent it from hindering your ability to complete everyday activities such as walking, driving, and wearing your favorite shoes. It is also best to fix it when the bunion is in the mild to the moderate stage rather than waiting until it gets severe. As the severity increases, you risk causing arthritis, and hammertoes, and requiring additional and more aggressive procedures.

Our patient outcomes may sound too good to be true, but the proof is in the praise.

The Bunion Cure facility is an amazing place. The physician at the Bunion Cure corrected a badly performed surgery by a podiatrist on my bunion and hammer toe. I no longer have a bunion or hammer toe. The recovery was easy. What is equally important is that the team treats you with respect and compassion.

Sandra P.

The people are amazing. I had  issues with my feet, bunions, hammertoes, a Taylor's bunion and injury related issues. So my surgery was more extensive as was my recovery. I had both feet addressed and here I am, 10 weeks out, back to working out, taking long walks, and enjoying life.

Carolyn K.

The team at the Bunion Cure are amazing. From Dr. Sullivan to David and all the staff. They addressed and answered all my questions prior to surgery and provided excellent follow-up care at every step. I would recommend them for anyone considering bunion surgery.

The Bunion Cure Process:

Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery

At The Bunion Cure Surgery Center, our friendly team of experienced professionals can offer fast and effective treatment for your bunions and have you walking out the front door pain-free in a matter of hours.  Bunion surgery is the only permanent solution for treating bunions at the source and easing pain, and with decades of experience in minimally invasive procedures, we’re ready to help.

Step One: Free Consultation

We offer free consultations for patients at both of our offices in Colorado and Wisconsin. X-rays will be taken and reviewed by the surgeon, who will examine your foot to make a diagnosis and discuss treatments for bunions, hammertoes, and heel spurs.

Step Two: Minimally Invasive Prodcedure

When undergoing a minimally invasive bunion surgery or other medical procedure at The Bunion Cure, you will be treated in one of our modern surgery facilities where we use the latest technologies and equipment. A small incision is made under local anesthesia with specially designed surgical equipment for the incision. The procedure is done through a 1/4″ incision and covered by a small bandage after.

Step Three: Fast Recovery

After your procedure, you will spend a short period of time resting in our designated recovery area. Family members can visit you in this comfortable environment. Once cleared, you will be able to walk and drive home! You should be able to return to your daily routine with hardly any disruption; some patients are able to work the next day. A follow-up call is made to check on your recovery and answer any questions. You may be required to wear a post-operative shoe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Foot Surgery FAQs: Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery

lorem ipsum dummy text

What is minimally invasive surgery?

A type of surgical procedure that accesses the surgical site through a small opening in the skin, not a long incision. A small incision is created on the foot, and a uniquely designed instrument is inserted into the opening. The whole process is done through a small opening of less than an inch. At the end of the surgical operation, a stitch may be used to seal the opening, and a small bandage protects the surface.

Why is minimally invasive surgery a better option compared to others?

Minimally invasive surgery causes less harm because there is only a minor disruption of the soft tissue. This process ensures a quick recovery. The patient can walk immediately following the surgery and get back to their normal lives quickly. Minimally invasive foot surgery also causes minimal pain. The entire outpatient procedure lasts about 90 minutes, from your arrival to the time you walk out of your surgery and drive yourself home. Compare bunion surgery types here.

Is there much pain?

No. Minimally invasive bunion surgery causes minimal pain. It’s an outpatient procedure with local anesthetic, much like going to the dentist.

How long does surgery take?

The minimally invasive foot operation usually takes half an hour and patients are in the surgery center for about an hour and a half, including pre and post op.

When can I go back to work?

This depends on the type of surgery and the type of work you do. People whose job requires them to be on their feet for hours at a time might have to be assigned “light duty” work or miss more work than people who sit for a long time at work.

When can I drive?

You can drive yourself home about an hour and a half after you arrive for your minimally invasive foot procedure.

Return to your life with The Bunion Cure

Our minimally invasive foot surgery for bunions, hammertoes, and heel spurs is the best option for patients who want quick and long-lasting relief from pain and discomfort, returning to “normal life” as soon as possible without having to worry about an equally painful recovery period after surgery.
